Charlotte Clarke and Tamie Chew Shine, But Cobras Fall to Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Coker College women's tennis team fell to the Augusta Jags 6-1 in their season opener on Saturday (Feb. 2).

Charlotte Clarke followed up her sensational freshman season, by opening her sophomore campaign with an impressive 6-4, 6-2 victory over Ana Faria in #2 singles action.

Tamie Chew had an impressive debut for the Cobras, pushing Augusta's #1 singles player Eva Miralles-Miro to a thrilling third set, but ultimately falling 5-7, 7-6, 8-10.

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Feb. 9) when they travel to face USC Aiken. Matches are set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
