Women’s Tennis Returns Home to Take on No. 21 Tusculum

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College women's tennis team (5-3) returns home to the friendly confines of the Coker Tennis Courts to take on the No. 21 Tusculum College Pioneers to open up South Atlantic Conference play on Saturday (Mar. 10). Opening serve is set for 1 p.m.

The Cobras return to Hartsville after taking a Spring Break trip to Hilton Head Island. The Cobras finished 1-1 during their trip, defeating Missouri Valley College 9-0 on Sunday (Mar. 4).

Heading into tomorrow's match, Jennifer Mezei and Suzanna Mickey lead the Navy and Gold in singles play with 6-2 records. Mezei has picked up her six victories at the No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 spots, while Mickey has earned victories at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. In addition, Jenna Gainey boasts a 4-2 singles record from the No. 6 position.

In doubles play, Mezei and Mickey have recorded a team-best 7-1 record, picking up two victories at the No. 2 position and five wins at No. 3 doubles. Charlotte Clarke and Gainey is the other Coker duo with a winning record in doubles play, posting a 4-3 record at No. 3 doubles.

No. 21 Tusculum heads into tomorrow's match with a perfect 5-0 record.
