HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's tennis will battle Lincoln Memorial on Sunday (Apr. 2) in South Atlantic Conference action.
The Cobras took on Lenoir-Rhyne on the road Saturday (Apr. 1), coming away with a 5-4 win. The Cobras trailed 2-1 after doubles play, with Jennifer Mezei and Jenna Gainey picking up the 8-3 win at No. 1. Coker won four singles matches to take the win, starting with 6-7 (6-8), 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2 from Mezei. The Cobras went on to win the final three singles matches, all in three sets starting with Suzanna Mickey winning 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4. Julia Sorrells earned the 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 win at No. 5, while Sarah Elliott clinched the win with a 0-6, 6-2, 6-4 decision at No. 6 singles.
Lincoln Memorial comes into the matchup 9-4 overall and an even 3-3 in the league. The Railsplitters have three singles players with at least 10 wins and two doubles tandems with nine wins.
First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Coker tennis courts.
