Coker Picks Up 5-4 SAC Win Over Carson-Newman

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker Cobra women's tennis team picked up a 5-4 win over the visiting Carson-Newman Eagles on Friday (Apr. 3).

The Cobras fell behind 2-1 after doubles play, but thanks to wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 singles they were able to bring home the 5-4 victory.

Bailey and Ragan Palmer both went undefeated in the match. The duo won their No. 2 doubles match 8-4. Then Bailey picked up a 6-4, 6-7 (4-8), 6-4 win at No. 2 singles and Ragan got the win at No. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-1.

Jennifer Mezei picked up a 6-1, 3-0 victory at No. 1 singles and Suzanna Mickey picked up Coker's fifth win at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-4.

The Cobras will return to the court on Monday (Apr. 6) when they travel to Mars Hill for a South Atlantic Conference match. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
