Cobras Win Fourth Straight with 7-2 SAC Victory over Tornados

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's tennis team picked up a 7-2 South Atlantic Conference win over Brevard College on Saturday (Mar. 21) afternoon. The win improved the Cobras to 3-1 in conference and moved their winning streak to four matches.

Coker opened the day with two wins in the doubles portion of play. Bailey Palmer and Ragan Palmer notched the first win with an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles, while Jessi Campos and Suzanna Mickey picked up an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.

The Cobras would take five of the six singles matches; with Jennifer Mezei leading the way with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles. Campos captured an a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles and Sarah Elliott won 8-2 at No. 4 singles. Ragan Palmer notched a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles, while Jenna Gainey wrapped up the wins for Coker with an 8-5 win at No. 6 singles.

The Cobras will have a quick turnaround as they face the Royals of Queens University of Charlotte on Sunday (Mar. 22). The match is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
