Cobras Knock Off Hilltoppers in Non-Conference Action

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Coker women's tennis team captured a 6-3 non-conference win over West Liberty State University on Thursday (Mar. 12) afternoon.

The duos of Bailey Palmer and Ragan Palmer and Jessi Campos and Suzanna Mickey would give Coker an early 2-1 advantage with identical 8-2 wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.

Coker would continue the momentum in the singles portion of the match, taking four of the six matches. Leading the way was Campos with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles. Ragan Palmer picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles, while Jenna Gainey won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 5 singles. Sarah Hatcher concluded the wins with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 6 singles.

The Cobras will be back in action against Lincoln Memorial University on Saturday (Mar. 14). The match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start at the Coker Tennis Courts.
