Coker Women's Soccer falls to Catawba

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker University women's soccer team fell to Catawba on Saturday (Oct. 5) in South Atlantic Conference action by a score of 3-0.

In the first half the Cobras led with a strong defense to hold a scoreless tie at halftime.The Cobras continued to hold the Indians scoreless until the 75-minute mark when Catawba's Courney Ravis scored the first goal of the game.

"I thought we played well and the score doesn't reflect the quality of the game," said head coach Garrett Linquist. "I am proud of the effort we put in tonight, and we will look to build upon it next week."

Sarah Swaim had 12 saves between the pipes, while Gabby Sturla had two shots for the Cobras.

The Cobras will be back in action on Wednesday  (Oct. 9) when they host Mount Olive for a non-conference matchup with kick off time slated for 7:00 p.m.
