Cobras Women's Soccer Knocks Off the Knights, 1-0

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College women's soccer team came away victorious over the St. Andrews University Knights, 1-0 by a goal from Lexi Garcia in the 22nd minute at the Coker Athletic Field on Wednesday (Oct. 25) afternoon. 

With a hard charge on the Knights' side of the field, Lexi Garcia was able to maneuver her way around the St. Andrews defenders and bury her first goal of the season in the back of the net. Garcia sent two shots on goal on the night.

The Cobras pushed the tempo and the attack on the Knights all game long. Coker fired off 12 shots with eight on goal. Batavia Mata led the Navy and Gold with four shots taken.

Samantha Hoffman collected her third clean sheet of the season and picked up two saves in the match.

The Cobras will host their final game of the season on Saturday (Oct. 28) against South Atlantic Conference opponent Carson-Newman. It will be senior day for Coker as the match is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start on the Coker Athletic Field.
