HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Gabrielle Sturla, Samantha Hoffman and Claire Slamka have each officially signed their National Letter of Intent to join the Coker women's soccer team, Head Coach Debbie McGuinness announced today.

Sturla comes to Hartsville from Raleigh, N.C. where she was a member of the Millbrook High School Wildcats soccer team.

"We are excited to have Gaby on board, her insight and awareness will have an immediate impact within our team," said McGuinness.

She is the daughter of Martin and Delia Sturla and currently undecided on a major.

Hoffman comes to Coker from East Coweta High School where she was a member of the soccer team for the Indians. In 2014, the Indians were 6A region champions and were among the final four teams in the state playoffs. Hoffman was an all-region selection as a goalkeeper that season.

"Sam is a no-nonsense keeper who takes charge and is a presence between the sticks. She is also comfortable with the ball at her feet," said McGuinness.

The Newnan, Ga. native is the daughter of Jill and Joseph Hoffman and plans to study physical therapy.

SLamka hails from Matanzas High School where she played soccer and ran cross country as well as track for the Pirates. On the pitch, she was selected for the conference's All-Area award all four years, and also was a member of a state qualifier team. She was also a regional qualifier for both cross country and track and field.

"Claire is an intelligent player who will add value to our team, both defensively and in the attack," said McGuinness.

The St. Augustine, Fla. native is the daughter of Stacey and Louis Slamka and plans to study pre-med.

The trio joins the program as part of the 2017-18 recruiting class.
