HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker women's soccer team has taken part in plenty of community service this fall, while balancing school and a season to be played.

The Cobras most recently took time back on Nov. 10 to work with a local church group and help serve food and drinks at a soup kitchen. That same day, the players went to the Darlington County Humane Society and helped care for dogs by cleaning kennels, walking dogs and giving the puppies some play time.

"As a group it is important to give back to the community that gives so much to us. We embrace the relationships we are making each time we step out to serve others. It is extremely rewarding as individuals and as a group for our growth and development," said McGuinness.

The team took part in another outing at the Darlington County Humane Society back on Nov. 8, and was also a part of the hurricane effort after Hurricane Matthew. On Oct. 14, team members assisted with CareSouth and moving food and drinks to senior citizens recovering from the storm. The Cobras had also helped out at the soup kitchen back in September.
