Cobras to Host Carson-Newman on Senior Day

The Coker women's soccer team hosts Carson-Newman on Saturday (Oct. 31) for Senior Day. Video feed and live stats for the match will be available at www.cokercobras.com

The Cobras enter the match having last played on Saturday (Oct. 24) and falling to Queens (N.C.) 4-1. Anna Vig tallied her team-leading eighth goal of the year in the contest. Shelby Middleton made 17 saves in the loss.

Carson-Newman leans on Julianne Herrity offensively. The junior leads the team in goals (12) and points (26). Jessica Faiture leads the Eagles in goal. The freshman has made 45 saves in 16 games and owns a .750 save percentage.

Coker will honor six seniors in Danielle Goerler, Katie Cooper, Heather Blaschke, Jenna Pacyna, Jessica Dellinger and Erica Snyder.

Goerler, a four-year forward played in 66 career games including 51 starts. She registered 40 shots and collected three points on a goal and an assist.

Cooper played midfield in her four seasons for Coker. She played in 47 games including nine starts. She registered 16 shots on goal finding the back of the net twice and tallying two assists.

Blaschke played four seasons at midfielder for Coker, playing in 62 games with a total of 37 starts. She netted one goal and tallied 14 shots.

Pacyna played four years at forward in her time at Coker. She appeared in 67 games, starting in 62. In those games she registered five goals and five assists and 65 shots.

Dellinger played in 57 games with 28 starts in a Coker uniform. In those contests she registered 18 shots, seven on goal.

Snyder played in 23 games, starting in four in her time at Coker. In her time in navy and gold she registered one goal and two assists.

The match is slated for a 2:00 p.m. start at the Coker College soccer fields. Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
