Cobras Host Catawba in Alumni Weekend Contest

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Cobras women's soccer team will play host to Catawba during Alumni Weekend on Saturday (Sept. 26) to wrap up a three-game home stand. Video and live stats for the match will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

Coker dropped its match 4-2 to Newberry on Wednesday (Sept. 23). Renee Ledesma and Anna Vig each tallied a goal in the second half, but two late Newberry goals would decide the contest.

The Indians (3-3, 2-1 SAC) are led by Emily Davis, who leads the team in goals (3) and points (6). Kristina Hoff has also chipped in four points of her own on two goals. Angelica Pawlowski anchors Catawba in goal, making 35 saves in 450 minutes and owning a 1.60 Goals Against Average.

Renee Ledesma leads the Cobras offensively with two goals and five points. Batavia Mata has also chipped in four points on a goal and two assists. In goal, the Cobras lean on Shelby Middleton, who has made 37 saves in 514:17 and owns a 2.98 Goals Against Average.

Kick-off is slated for 4:30 p.m. at the Coker College soccer fields. Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
