Cobras to Take on Hurricanes in Home Opener

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's soccer team returns to the friendly confines of the Coker College Soccer Field to take on the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes in its home opener on Wednesday (Sept 10) at 7 p.m. The match will be broadcast live on www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras will be looking to continue the success they had at home during the 2013-14 season. In their last four matches at home last year the Cobras went 3-0-1.

So far this season, the trio of Trah Monore, Salina Maynard and Renee Ledesma has led the Navy and Yellow offense with a combined seven shots on goal this season.

The Hurricanes come to Hartsville with a 0-2 record after dropping their previous match 5-1 to Spring Hill College. They are led by Colleen Livings who has one goal on the season.

Coker took home a 1-0 overtime road win in their 2013 matchup. 

Game time is set for 7 p.m. at the Coker College soccer fields. Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students. Coker will also be hosting Hartsville Young Professionals Night, with members of the HYP group receiving free admission to the match.
