Cobras Fall to Mountain Lions

YOUNG HARRIS, GA. – The Coker women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Young Harris College in a non-conference matchup on Saturday (Sept. 6).

The Mountain Lions took an early lead after finding the back of the net five minutes into the match. The Cobra defense would settle in and limit any scoring opportunities the rest of the half to head into the break down one.

Young Harris would notch two goals in the second half to set the final score of the match at 3-0.

Coker took 16 shots, putting nine on frame. The trio of Renee Ledesma, Salina Maynard and Trah Monroe led the offense with four shots apiece. Lizz Morris led the defense with nine saves, while Ashton Knopf made five stops of her own.

The Cobras will be back in action on Wednesday (Sept. 10) for their home opener against Georgia Southwestern State University. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
