Falcons’ explosive second half blanks Coker, 4-0

Coker junior keeper Haley Gibson (Chesterfield, S.C.) made nine saves, but the Cobras fell to Pfeiffer 4-0.

Coker took only four shots, sophomores Rachel Solomon (Bluffton, S.C.) and Emily Morrow (Columbia, S.C.) each took two shots.  Coker falls to 1-10 on the season and just 1-4 in conference games.

Pfeiffer was led by senior Alyssa Wombwell (Grand Blanc, Mich.) who scored two goals for the Falcons.  Freshmen Ashley Harrington (Albemarle, N.C.) and Hannah Hill (Monroe, N.C.) each added a goal.  Pfeiffer's record now stands at 4-6, 3-3 in Conference Carolinas games.

After the first half Coker trailed only 1-0, but Harrington (A: T. Patino, 64:13) would open the second half scoring for Pfeiffer.  Wombwell (PK, 70:58) scored on a penalty kick; and Hill (A: K. Collins, 74:15) would add the final marker off a one timer in the box.

Coker's next match is Tuesday, October 4, against Mount Olive at 4:30 pm.
