THE COBRAS DROP BOTH GAMES ON SENIOR NIGHT

HARTSVILLE, SC—The Cobras lost 0-2 at home Friday night. They played the Belmont Abbey Crusaders and the UNCP BraveHawks. Tonight, the Cobras also celebrated their four seniors.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

COKER VS BELMONT ABBEY

To start senior night the Cobras sent out Corey Gallivan to compete in the 125lb weight class. Gallivan put the Cobras up early as he won his dual by decision with a final score of 13-11 to give himself a dream Senior Night. Belmont Abbey quickly fired back as they won both the 133 and 141 weight classes by decision making the score 6-3 going into the 4th dual of the night. Kymontae Wright put the Cobras back in the lead as he won by Major Decision 21-8 giving the Cobras a 7-6 lead over the Crusaders. The Cobras tried to get back into this match after Wright put the Cobras in the lead over the next two duals however the Crusaders just edged out Coker to go up 12-7. The Cobras didn't seem much more luck through the rest of the match as the Crusaders proved they were too much as Belmont Abbey came out with the win 30-7.

COKER VS #19 UNC PEMBROKE

After the Belmont Abbey dual, the Cobras took a quick break to catch their breath and regroup. Mason Moody started things off for the Cobras this round in the 125lb weight class. Moody went the distance with his UNCP competitor however didn't have the points in the end to win the match. Frank Bianco in the 141lb weight class gave the Cobras an opening to stage a comeback as he won his match-up by decision 15-8 bringing the score to 10-3. In the 157lb weight class Dustin Flinn competed in place of Noah Korenoski. Flinn battled hard against his competitor to the end. However due to the amount of ride time his foe had he ended up losing in sudden victory 6-5 in an absolute heartbreaker. UNCP showed their quality in the rest of this dual as they ran away with the match with the final score being 3-41 in favor of the visitors.

Now the Cobras must wait and see who will make the cut to get into the NCAA Dll Super Regional.
