Cobras Down St. Andrews 45-8 on Friday Night

LAURINBURG, N.C. - The Coker University wrestling team moved to 2-0 in dual match competition with a 45-8 win at St. Andrews Friday night (Nov. 15). 

John Watts began the night for the Cobras posting an 18-2 tech fall win over Will Dudley at 125 pounds, before Omar Armengol recorded the second consecutive tech fall for the Cobras at 133 pounds defeating Kevin Mitchell 19-4. Alex Braden added to the Cobras lead with a win by fall over Aiden McDonald in 5:33 at 141 pounds, before the Knights captured victories at 149 pounds and 157 pounds. Corey Christie earned a win by forfeit at 165 pounds, before No. 12 Jhavon Innocent posted another tech fall win by a score of 20-4 over Tyler Godfrey at 174 pounds. Corey Perkins-Willet picked up a win by forfeit at 184 pounds, before David Alvarez pinned Carter Terry in 4:19 at 197 pounds. No. 7 Ramon Correa closed out the match with a win by fall over Gavin McCullough in 1:37 at 285 pounds. 

The Cobras are back on the mat next Wednesday (Nov. 20) when they travel to Cleveland, Ga. to face Truett-McConnell in non-conference action. The action is slated for a 6:00 p.m. start.
