Wrestling Takes Down Liberty in Final Dual of the Season

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College wrestling team secured a 26-21 victory over Liberty on Thursday (Feb. 14) night.

John Watts got it started for the Cobras at 125 pounds with a dominant performance, picking up an 18-2 tech fall to continue his phenomenal freshman season. Senior Frank Velez capped off his Coker career with a pin at 133 pounds and Alex Braden would follow him up with yet another pin at 141 pounds. The Cobras would get their third win by way of fall at 157 pounds by Bret Shurina and Corey Christie would grab an overtime decision at 165 pounds. 

The Cobras will return to the mat when they compete at the NCAA Super Regionals hosted in Hartsville, South Carolina on Friday (Feb. 22).
