2018-19: Wrestled 15 bouts between 125, 133 and 141 pounds...Posted six wins...Picked up an 11-7 decision over his UNC Pembroke opponent at the Hokie Open (Nov. 4)...Picked up a 13-7 decision over his Bluefield College opponent, before pinning another Bluefield College opponent in 2:01 at the King Open (Nov. 11)...Earned a win by fall against Bluefield College (Jan. 12)...Picked up a win by forfeit against Belmont Abbey (Jan. 25)...Picked up a win by fall (2:10) against his Liberty opponent (Feb. 17).

2017-18: Did not wrestle this year. 

2016-17: Recorded a 11-13 record with one fall at 125 pounds...Finished fourth at the UNC Pembroke Classic.

2015-16: Did not wrestle, redshirted this year.

High School: Velez attened Richland Northeast High School where he was a two-time regional champion, a runner-up in the upper-state tournament and finished fifth in the South Carolina state tournament. 

Personal: Son of Maria Lopez-Velez and Wilfredo Velez...He has five siblings Paula, Luis, Brian, Wilfredo and Jose.
