Peguero Tabbed Seventh in Latest NWCA National Rankings

FAYETTE, IOWA - Coker wrestling's Luis Peguero ranks seventh nationally in the 197 pound weight class as of Feb. 16, according to the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association. This is the fourth ranking released of the season and the third appearance on the list for Peguero.

Peguero has competed in five duals since the previous ranking. He won three decisions against King (Tenn.) (2-1), UNC Pembroke (4-1), and Newberry (5-1). Peguero went into overtime with his Findlay opponent at the Super Region II Duals, winning 2-1. His lone loss was to No. 3 Luke Cramer from Ashland at the region duals.

On the season, Peguero has 21 wins, including four falls, one major decision, and 13 decisions. In his Cobra career, he is first all-time with 61 wins, by way of 12 pins, two technical falls, seven major decisions, and 32 decisions.

The Tampa, Fla native is the son Luis Peguero and is majoring in business.
