Peguero Earns Third Place at Midwest Classic

Coker wrestling’s Luis Peguero continued on to day two of the Midwest Classic, hosted by the University of Indianapolis and captured third place at 197 pounds. This competition welcomes Division II and NAIA schools with wrestlers from across the country.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- Coker wrestling's Luis Peguero continued on to day two of the Midwest Classic, hosted by the University of Indianapolis and captured third place at 197 pounds. This competition welcomes Division II and NAIA schools with wrestlers from across the country.

On day one, Peguero won his first two matches before dropping into the consolation round in his last match. Day two saw him tough out four straight victories to garner third place accolades.

Throughout the two days, Peguero collected three decisions, one pin, a major decision, and a medical forfeit.

The Cobras break for the holidays and will return to the mat Jan. 11 when they host the Saints of Limestone College in a ECAC match at 7:00 p.m.
