FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA. – The Coker College wrestling team fell to the Emmanuel College Lions 32-19 in ECAC action Thursday (Feb. 2) evening. The Cobras won four of the ten bouts wrestled, receiving victories from Jacob Haydock, Jordon Tague, Jamal Lackey, and Tyvon Leacock. 

Jacob Haydock tallied the first victory of the night for the Navy and Gold with a comfortable 9-0 major decision over Jay Sheppard. The Coker 157 pounder secured the only takedowns of the match and rode tough from the top position.

Next, Jordon Tague earned a 13-7 decision over J.A. Jones at 165 pounds. Tague collected multiple takedowns throughout the match for the decision. At 174 pounds, Jamal Lackey kept Coker's momentum rolling with a quick fall in 1:05.

The Lions took the next two bouts to take the Cobras out of striking distance for the victory, but Tyvon Leacock finished the dual meet strong for the Navy and Gold when he hit a throw for a fall in just 26 seconds. 

The Cobras will be back in action this coming Monday (Feb. 6) when they return to the friendly confines of the DeLoach Center to host UNC Pembroke at 7 p.m.
