ANDERSON, S.C. – The Coker Cobra wrestling team picked up its 14th dual match victory of the season with 38-9 win over the Anderson University Trojans on Wednesday (Feb. 10) evening.
The Cobras jumped out to an early 4-0 lead thanks to a 17-5 major decision win by Charlie Huff at 125-pounds. Coker extended the lead to 15-6 after a forfeit at 141-pounds and a tech fall by Raashad Cunningham at 157-pounds.
Jamal Lackey stretched the lead to 21-6 with a pin at 165-pounds and Derrick Booth followed with a 19-0 tech fall at 174-pounds. The Cobras closed out the match with a forfeit at 197-pounds and a pin by Tyvon Leacock at 285-pounds to take home the 38-9 victory.
Coker will now take a break before hitting the road to the University of Indianapolis for the NCAA Regional on Feb. 26-27.
