Coker Wrestling to Host Art Meets Art Match

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Two art forms will collide on Wednesday (Nov. 11) when Coker wrestling hosts St. Andrews for a dual meet in Watson Theater at the Elizabeth Boatwright Performing Arts Center at Coker for the program's first-ever Art Meets Art event.

In addition to the Coker wrestling match, the Coker dance department will be performing between matches, giving fans a taste of athletics and art together in one event.

"The big thing for us is a change of venue," said head coach Cy Wainwright. "Wrestling in a theater like Watson, gives us a unique ambiance. It will be exciting for our wrestlers and the fans."

The Cobras and the Knights will compete in 10 matches, with an intermission after the fifth match at which time the Coker dance department will take the stage for a performance.

Wainwright added, "We are very excited to be able to partner with the dance department and bring athletics and performing arts together for this special night."

The match is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start; with doors opening at 6 p.m. Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, and $3 for students. Coker faculty, staff and students receive free admission with ID.
