Coker Wrestling Set to Clash with Anderson

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The regionally ranked No. 4 Coker Cobra wrestling team will return to the friendly confines of the DeLoach Center for their final home match of the season on Wednesday (Feb. 4). The Cobras will play host to the regionally ranked No. 11 Trojans of Anderson University. Live stats and video of the match will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

Coker is coming off a 2-2 performance at the Super Regional Duals at Tiffin University. The Cobras defeated Seton Hill (24-14) and upset nationally ranked No. 8 Lake Erie (18-13) during the tournament. So far this season, the Cobras are 12-4 in dual matches. Last season the Coker defeated Anderson on the road, 28-17.

Anderson comes to Coker sporting a record of 10-13 in dual matches. The Trojans also traveled to Tiffin last weekend, they went 0-4 at the tournament. They are led by Zak Hale at 133-pounds. The junior is ranked No. 4 in the nation at the 133-pound weight class with a record of 16-5. 

The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. It will be senior night for the Cobras and during the match coach Cy Wainwright and the Cobras will honor the team's two seniors; Travis Laxton and Alex Green.  Tickets for the match at $5 dollars for adults and $3 dollars for students and admission is free for all Coker faculty, staff and students.
