HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker wrestling team will hit the road this Saturday (Jan. 4) for its first dual match of 2014 against the nationally ranked No. 4 Newberry College Wolves. The dual is set to begin at 3 p.m. in Newberry's Eleazer Arena. Live coverage of the match will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras will be looking to improve on their 4-1 record in dual matches. Leading the way for Coker are Austin Akins and Charlie Huff with 15 wins each at the 285-pound and 133-pound divisions, respectively.  Kevin Thompson leads the team with five pins on the year and is second on the team in victories with 14. He will take the mat at the 149-pound division.

The Wolves will put their undefeated (6-0) dual match record on the line when they take the mat against the Cobras. In their most recent dual the Wolves defeated Limestone 41-6.

The match will also mark the return of Coker head coach Cy Wainwright to his alma mater. The 2009 Newberry graduate was a two-time All-American and 2009 NCAA Division II National Champion for the Wolves.
