HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker wrestling team will hit the road for its first dual match of the season at Limestone College on Thursday (Nov. 21). The wrestlers will hit the mat at 7:30 p.m. Live coverage of the match will be available at www.cokercobras.com.
So far this season the Cobras have competed in three open tournaments; The Citadel Open, Pembroke Classic and Wolfpack Open. Charlie Huff, Rashad Cunningham, Zach Dicus and Austin Akins have been the leading wrestlers. Huff earned the program's first title winning the 133-pound division at the Pembroke Classic, while Cunningham and Akins placed at the Citadel Open. Dicus and Akins also placed at the Pembroke Classic.
The Limestone Saints are coming off a 19-16 win over Belmont Abbey in their most recent match.
Competing for the Cobras will be Gavin Perkins at the 125-pound division, Huff at the 133-pound division, and Cunningham at the 141-pound division. Kevin Thompson will take the mat at the 149-pound division, while JD Dykes will wrestle at the 157-pound division. Ellison Sanders will compete at the 165-pound division and Phillip Burrows will take part in the 174-pound division, as will Zach Dicus. Jacob Ralph will wrestle at the 184-pound division, while Robert Parland and Austin Akins will compete in the 197-pound and heavy weight divisions respectively.
