Faith Kent Scores Seven Goals, Coker Women's Lacrosse Beats Chowan 21-4

MURFREESBORO, N.C. -- The Coker College women's lacrosse team defeated the Chowan Hawks by a final score of 21-4 on Wednesday (Feb. 27).

Faith Kent was the star offensively for the Cobras. The redshirt senior scored seven goals, and dished out three assists in the victory. Kent is now just 14 goals behind Haley McCusker for the Coker career goals record.

Coker fell behind 1-0, but then scored 14 straight goals to bury the Hawks before halftime. The Cobras dominated in every facet of the game, including shots (33-12), shots on goal (30-11) free position shots (12-2), and ground balls (24-20).

Freshman Hannah Shuren added three goals for Coker, doubling her season total to six. She also added two assists, giving her a career-high five points in the game. Katie Driskell, Gabby Jessup, Meagan Gallagher, Bailey O'Brien, and Reagan Parr each scored two goals apiece, while Freshman Makenzie Stroup added the first collegiate goal of her career.

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Mar. 9) when they open up South Atlantic Conference play on the road at Lincoln Memorial. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m.
