Coker Drops Overtime Heart-Breaker on Senior Day

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College women's lacrosse team fought valiantly on their final home game of the 2018 season on Saturday, April 21 against Lincoln Memorial. The Senior Day effort was not enough as the Cobras fell in overtime to the Railsplitters, 13-12.

Faith Kent and senior Haley McCusker led the offensive attack for the Cobras with three goals a piece. Bri Neily and Katie Driskell contributed two each, while Alexis Zegan and Sarah Bryson chipped in a pair collectively. Kent (3) and McCusker (1) combined for the four assists on the afternoon. Four Cobras scooped up two ground balls in the game: Driskell, Skylar Stowers, Hannah Baird, and McCusker. Zegan and Bailey O'Brien also collect one a piece. Kent and Bryson tied for the team-high five draw controls. Cassie Williams finished with 15 saves and her highest save percentage of the season at 53.6.

The Cobras never led but the lead was never higher than three, resulting in four ties. The final dagger came with just 14 seconds elapsed into overtime when Lincoln Memorial controlled the opening draw and marched down for the unassisted score.

With the loss, Coker's 2018 season has drawn to a close.
