Records Shattered in Conference Loss to Wolves

NEWBERRY, S.C.- The Coker College women's lacrosse squad went to Newberry College for their conference opener on Wednesday, March 21. The Cobras came out on the losing end of an offensive shootout, 23-21.

Faith Kent now holds the Coker all-time record in goals in a game with nine, a new career-high. She scored a hat trick in a span of just over two minutes. Kent claims second all-time in ground balls in a game with 13. With her nine goal and one assist performance, she is tied for first in Coker history with 10 points in a game.

Haley McCusker becomes the second Cobra to surpass 200 points in her career. She scored six goals in the first half on her way to an eight goal afternoon, both a career-high and ties her for second in the Coker record book. McCusker now holds the ground balls in a game record with 16.

The team, as a group, went on a stampede, scoring nine goals in seven minutes. With 21 goals, it ties them for second in the record books for goals in a game. They broke the ground balls in a game mark with 50.

The Navy and Gold continue their traveling as they play at SAC opponent Mars Hill University on Saturday, March, 24. Opening draw against the Lions is set for 11:00 a.m.
