Cobras Set to Take on Trojans in Season Opener

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's lacrosse team is set to start its 2015 season as they host the University of Mount Olive Trojans on Friday (Feb. 6). The non-conference matchup will take place at Byerly Park with live stats and broadcast available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras are led by preseason All-SAC first team selections Mackenzie Baker and Kaitlyn Kimball. Baker was the catalyst for the Coker offense that netted 124 goals last season. She finished last season with a team-high 39 goals, which was fifth in the South Atlantic Conference. Her 47 total points was good enough for sixth in the SAC. Kimbell led the Coker defense last year by causing a team best 25 turnovers.

This game will also serve as the Trojans season opener. They finished the 2014 season with a 12-6 overall and a 4-2 in conference record in Conference Carolinas. They have been picked fourth in the 2015 Conference Carolinas preseason poll.

The game is set to begin at 3 p.m. at Byerly Park.
