Cobras Take on Indians in Final Home Stanza

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's lacrosse team will match up against the Catawba College Indians in a South Atlantic Conference competition on Saturday (Apr. 5), at Byerly Park.  A live video webcast of the game can be found at www.cokercobras.com.

Leading the way for the Navy and Yellow is Mackenzie Baker with 29 total points on the season.  Baker has a team leading 25 goals, and is third on the team in assists with four.  Hayley Ferone will also be a key contributor in Saturday's game, as the teams' second leading scorer with 20 goals on the year. She is also tied for first on the team in assists, with seven dimes this season. 

Defensively, the Cobras are led by Kaitlyn Kimball and Marabeth Durden.  Kimball heads the defense with 19 caused turnovers, while Durden is second with 12.  Durden is also in a three-way team tie for groundballs at 29, along with Baker, and Lindsay Ordermann.

Between the pipes the Cobras are expecting a big game from Mandy Lopez.  Lopez has played in all nine games this season for Coker, and has tallied 94 saves.

In their most recent competition, Catawba took a 14-12 win over Erskine.  Leading the offense for the Indians is Alyssa Corace with a team high 27 goals, followed by Ebony Mills with 19, and Meredith Jones with 18.  In goal, Catawba is led by Bethany Davis who has played in eleven games this year and totaled 92 saves. 

Game time is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start time, followed by the men's game at 4:00.
