Coker Women's Golf Finishes the 2019 Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – After completing two rounds of play at the Panther Run Golf Club, the Coker University women's golf team finished seventh place in the 2019 Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate on Tuesday (Oct. 1). The team finished with a combined score of 661 (+85). 

Alicia Fajardo led the way for the Cobras, shooting a 156 (+3), which was 10th best individually for the tournament. After struggling on the back nine in round one, Fajardo rebounded with a great second round shooting one over par (37) on the front nine in round two. She birdied on holes six and 12. 

Jordan White shot a 159 (+15), which had her ranked 18th individually. White shot a 78 in round two (+6), with a birdie on hole 11. Taylor Mayers shot a 162 (+18) for both rounds. Mayers finished strong on the back nine with a score of 39 (+3), sinking a birdie on hole 16. 

"I'm really proud of the way we competed today," said coach Sam Stark. "That type of fight will pay dividends down the road for our golfers." 

The Cobras will be back in action on Monday (Oct. 7), when they travel to Salisbury, N.C. for the Patsy Rendleman Invitational at the Panther Run Golf Club. Live scoring can be found at  www.cokercobras.com
