Kelli Smith Honored as Elite 20 Award Winner

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker College women's golfer Kelli Smith was selected as the 2019 Elite 20 Award winner, as announced by the South Atlantic Conference on Sunday (Apr. 7) at the South Atlantic Conference Women's Golf Championship. The Elite 20 Award honors the student-athlete with the top cumulative grade-point average in each of the South Atlantic Conference's 20 team championship sports.

The junior from Murrells Inlet, South Carolina has compiled a 4.00 GPA while completing 161 credit hours. So far this season she has played in six tournaments with an adjusted scoring average of 81.71, according to Golfstat. Smith has notched four top-20 finishes during her third season with the Navy and Gold, with her best finish being an 11th-place showing at the Coker win at the Cherokee Valley Women's Invitational.

Smith is the daughter of Sherri and Jay Smith and the sister of Katie.
