Cobras Tied For Third After Day One at the Converse Spring Invite

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Coker College women's golf team is currently tied for third-place after the opening round of the Converse Spring Invite on Monday (Feb. 18). The Cobras, who were victorious at Carolina Country Club in the fall, are just six shots back of Newberry at the top and will look to make a second-round push for the title.

Alyssa Campbell led the Navy and Gold in the first round with a score of 79 (+7), putting her firmly in the hunt just two shots back of the lead in a tie for fifth. Alicia Fajardo and Bella Harris both carded opening rounds of 83 (+11) and are currently tied for 17th. Kelli Smith was not far behind in a tie for 19th following her opening-day score of 84 (+12), while Ana Orlov rounded out the day tied for 21st after posting an 85 (+13).

The Cobras will hit the course again on Tuesday (Feb. 19) for the final round of the Converse Spring Invite.
