Coker Brings Home Championship at Converse College Fall Invite
Cobras edge out tournament host Converse for first title of 2017-18 season
ROEBUCK, S.C.- After three rounds of play at the Carolina Country Club the Coker College women's golf team will return champions of the Converse College Fall Invite. Finishing with a combined team score of 631 the Cobras defeated tournament host Converse College by a stroke to bring home the title.
Taylor Mayers led the way for the Navy and Gold posting rounds of 82 and 72 to finish tied for second place in the tournament. Angela Luna (77, 78), Kelli Smith (78, 82), Ana Orlov (81, 83), and Amber Winburn (85, 81) all placed inside the top 20 for the Cobras as well.
Luna finished tied for fourth, Smith in 11th, Orlov tied for 14th, and Winburn tied for 19th.
The women's golf team's next tournament will be held at the Hilton Head Lakes Intercollegiate played on the HIlton Head Lakes Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C.
