Cobras In Seventh After Day One of Wingate Intercollegiate Challenge

MONROE, N.C. – The Coker College women's golf team shot an opening round team score of 328 at the Wingate Intercollegiate Challenge. The Cobras are in seventh place on the team leaderboard going into the final 18 holes. 

Bella Harris and Angela Luna led the way for the Cobras, carding rounds of 81 on day one. Harris and Luna are in a tie for 14th on the individual leaderboard. Kelli Smith and Amber Winburn signed off on rounds of 83, while Taylor Mayers rounded things out for the Navy and Gold with a round of 86.

Tusculum College is atop the team leaderboard after an opening round team score of 317, with Wingate sitting in second place at 321. Katie Tomassoni of Tusculum is the individual overnight leader. She shot a round of 75 on day one.

Final round tee times will begin on Tuesday (Mar. 21) morning.
