MONROE, N.C. - The Coker College women's golf team shot an opening ronud 328 on Saturday (Oct. 17) at the South Atlantic Conference Preview tournament hosted by Wingate University. They are in fifth place going into the final 18 holes. 

Bella Harris led the way with a round of 75. Her stellar play leaves her in third place going into the final round. Taylor Demby is in a tie for 20th after a round of 82. Tensley Clowser fired a round of 84, which was good enough for a tie for 29th after day one. Rounding out the starting five was the duo of Ana Orlov and Taylor Gaskins. Orlov signed off on a round of 87, while Gaskins carded a round of 91. 

Wingate University shot a team score of 309 and is atop the team leaderboard. Savannah Thompson of UNC Pembroke is the indiviidual overnight leader after an opening round of 71. 

Tee times for the final round will begin tomorrow morning (Oct. 18) at Monroe Country Club.
