Cobras Take Third at Cherokee Valley Women’s Invitational

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The Coker College women's golf team shot a final round 322 on Tuesday (Mar. 31) in route to a 646 tournament total and a third place finish at the Cherokee Valley Women's Invitational.

Taylor Demby led the way for the Navy and Yellow. She finished in a tie for second place with a 36-hole score of 153 after a final round 75. Angela Luna also notched a top ten finish after a closing 81 and a tournament score of 160. Mallory Thompkins finished in a tie for 12th place individually after signing off on a 78 on day two. She finished with a tournament total of 161. Amber Harman shot an 88 on the final day and finished with a two day score of 172. Margaret Mills rounded out the traveling five for the Cobras with a tournament score of 180 after a final round of 88.

University of Mount Olive took home the team title shooting a team total of 623.  Julie Loennechen of Mount Olive also took home the individual medalist honors. She fired rounds of 76 and 75 in route to a two-stroke victory.

The Cobras will be back in action on April 12 at the South Atlantic Conference Championship tournament in Charlotte, N.C.
