Cobras in Third After Round One of Cherokee Valley Women’s Invitational

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The Coker College women's golf team is in a tie for third place after round one of the Cherokee Valley Women's Invitational. The Cobras opened with a round of 324 on Monday (Mar. 30)

Taylor Demby and Angela Luna led the way for the Navy and Yellow. Demby fired an opening round of 78 which left her in a tie for eighth place individually. Luna was not far behind, signing off on a 79 on day one. She is in a tie for 12th place. Mallory Thompkins and Amber Harman carded rounds of 83 and 84 and sit inside the top 30 individually. Margaret Mills rounded out the starting five shooting an opening 92.

University of Mount Olive is atop the team standings after a team score of 304 to open the tournament. Julia Kaeding of Mount Olive and Grace Glaze of Queens University of Charlotte are the individual overnight leaders after rounds of 75 on day one.

Tee times will begin Tuesday (Mar. 31) morning at the Cherokee Valley Golf Club.
