Cobra Women in Ninth After Day One at Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Coker College women's golf team is in ninth place after an opening round 318 (+30) at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate.

The ladies were led by senior Mallory Thompkins and junior Taylor Demby who are in the top 15 on the individual leaderboard after the first 18 holes. Thompkins is in a tie for 10th after firing an opening round 76 (+4). Demby is in a tie for 14th after a day one round of 77 (+5). Freshmen Angela Luna and Margaret Mills shot rounds of 81 (+9) and 84 (+12), respectively. Sophomore Taylor Gaskins rounded out the starting five for the Navy and Yellow with a round of 93 (+21).

Florida Tech is out in front on the team leaderboard after a round one score of 299 (+11). Johanna Larsson of Florida Tech is atop the individual leaderboard with an opening round 68 (-4).

Round two will begin tomorrow morning at the Rees Jones course at Sea Trail Golf Club.
