Coker Golf Back in Action at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Coker College men's and women's golf teams are back on the links on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 6-7) as they travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate.

Sophomore Will Bundy headlines the starting five for the men's traveling squad. Bundy leads the Cobras with a 73.5 scoring average on the season. The freshman duo of Jonathan Sundstrom and Alex Rios have 75.25 scoring averages on the season so far. Junior Blake Baysden has compiled a 76.5 scoring average in the first two tournaments. John Duke rounds out the starting five with a 76.75 season scoring average.

The Coker men have played well at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate with a fifth place finish last season, and a victory in 2010.

Junior Taylor Demby and freshman Angela Luna lead the women's squad with scoring averages of 78.25 and 78.5 on the season so far. Both recorded top ten finishes in their previous tournament. Senior Mallory Thompkins comes in with an 83.5 season scoring average. Sophomore Taylor Gaskins and freshman Margaret Mills round out the starting five with 86.75 and 88.5 averages on the year, respectively.

The Coker women finished in the top 15 last season at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate.

Tee times will begin Monday morning (Oct. 6) at the Sea Trail Golf Club.
