Women’s Golf in Fourth After Day One at Etowah Intercollegiate

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – The Coker College women's golf team finds itself in fourth place after day one (Sept.22) of the Etowah Intercollegiate at the Etowah Valley Country Club. The ladies shot an 18-hole team total of 326 (+38)

The Navy and Yellow were paced by junior Taylor Demby and freshman Angela Luna who carded rounds of 77 (+5). Both are tied for fifth going into the final 18-holes. Sophomore Taylor Gaskins is inside the top 20 with an opening day 85 (+13). Senior Mallory Thompkins and junior Tensley Clowser round out the traveling five with scores of 87 (+15) and 92 (+20) after day one.  

Carson-Newman University and Newberry College are tied at the top of the team leaderboard with round one totals of 311 (+23). Carson Newman's Elizabeth England is the individual leader after an opening round of 73 (+1).

Round two will be begin Tuesday morning (Sept. 23) at the Etowah Valley Country Club in Hendersonville, N.C.
