Coker Women Open Play at Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate

SEVIERVILLE, TENN. – The Coker women's golf team opened play at the Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate on Saturday (Sept. 6). The Cobras are currently in 12th place after shooting a team score of 330 (+42).

Leading the way for the Navy and Yellow are freshman Angela Luna and sophomore Taylor Gaskins. Both golfers are tied for 34th place after firing opening rounds of 81 (+9). Senior Mallory Thompkins shot an 83 (+11) followed by freshman Margaret Mills with an opening round of 85 (+13). Taylor Demby rounded out the field of golfers for the Cobras with an 87 (+15).

Lee University (305, +17) leads the way after day one, while host Carson-Newman College (308, +20) is in second and Limestone College is in third (310, +22).

Coker will return to action on Sunday (Sept. 7) for the final round of play at the Sevierville Golf Club's River Course. The Cobras will tee-off starting at 8 a.m.
