Cobras Capture Seventh at Pinehurst Challenge

PINEHURST, N.C. – The Coker women's golf team finished in seventh place at the Wingate Pinehurst Challenge, after a two round team total of 694 on Monday (Mar. 24). 

Mallory Thompkins led the way for the Navy and Yellow after a 36-hole total of 170.  Her score was good enough to land her tied for 21st for individual play.  Coming in next for the Cobras was Amber Harman and Taylor Demby with scores of 173 and 175 respectively.  Tensley Clowser and Krista Thorpe completed the field for Coker with two round score totals of 178 and 180.

Armstrong finished first at the tournament with a team score of 638, followed by Lee University (665) and South Carolina Beaufort (666).  Jenna Birch of Armstrong took home the individual title with a two round total of 154.

Coker will now prepare for the SAC championship that will take place on April 13th.
