Women’s Golf in 11th after Day One

POOLER, GA. – The Coker College women's golf team finds themselves in 11th place after day one of the Armstrong Pirate Women's Invitational. As a team, the Cobras shot a first round 343 (+55).

Leading the Cobras was sophomore Taylor Demby with a first round score of 80 (+8).  Demby score is good enough to tie for 17th individually after round one.  Senior Krista Thorpe came in next with a first round 84 (+12).  Junior Mallory Thompkins carded an 88 (+16), while Freshman Amber Harman and Taylor Gaskins rounded out the Navy and Yellow with first round totals of 91 and 94 respectively.

Host Armstrong Atlantic State University and Flagler College sit atop the team leaderboard after firing 308 (+20) on day one. Armstrong Atlantic's Kiley Mettler shot an even-par 72 and is the first round leader.

Round two gets underway tomorrow morning with a shotgun start at 8 am.
