Cobras Finish 14th at Tusculum Kiawah Invitational

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Coker women's golf team shot a two round total of 655 to finish 14th at the Tusculum Kiawah Invitational on Sunday (Feb. 2). 

The golfers were challenged with soggy course conditions during day one of the tournament, as it rained for most of the day.  Eventually, round one was postponed until Sunday with four teams yet to finish. 

Taylor Demby led the Cobras for the weekend with a two day total of 152.  Demby shot a 75 on day one, followed by a 77.   Her score was good enough to tie her for ninth place individually, out of 90 golfers.   

Mallory Thompkins was next for the Cobras with a two round total of 165.  Thompkins shot an 85 in the tough weather conditions of the first round, and then followed up with an 80 during day two.  Tensley Clowser finished with scores of 84 and 83 to total 167, followed by Amber Harman with a 90 and 81 to total 171 for the tournament.  Completing the field for Coker was Krista Thorpe who finished with scores of 95 and 91 to total 186. 

Coker's next tournament will come on March 3rd, as they travel to Savannah, Georgia to participate in the Lady Pirate Invitational.
