Women's Basketball Ends Season in Opening Round of Pilot/Flying J South Atlantic Conference Tournament

HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Coker University women's basketball season ended on Saturday (Feb. 27) in the opening round of the Pilot/Flying J South Atlantic Conference tournament, with the Cobras falling to Lincoln Memorial 80-66.

The two teams played a competitive yet low-scoring first quarter, with Lincoln Memorial leading 13-11 after 10 minutes.

Coker would win the second quarter 17-16, while LMU would take a 29-20 lead to the half.

The Railsplitters would win the third quarter 23-15 to take a 10-point lead to the fourth.

LMU would extend their lead further in the fourth en route to the tournament victory.

The Cobras shot 39.7 percent in the game, aided by 11 three-pointers. Coker's three-pointer total in the game was one shy of tying the program's single-game record. Raya Coley paced the Cobras with 14 points, while Emily Davis also added 11 and Saquita Joyner also scored 10. Seven other Cobras contributed points in the game. Coker out-rebounded LMU 37-34, led by eight boards from Abigail Keesling. Six other Cobras were active on the glass in the game. Keesling and Ahlea Myers each dished out four assists in the game, while four others helped on Coker buckets in the game. Davis and Myers each recorded one steal, while Hope Richardson posted two blocks and Davis also had one.

This concludes the 2020-21 women's basketball season.
