Women's Basketball Releases 2019-20 Schedule

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University women's basketball team has released its 2019-20 schedule for the program's fifth season under head coach Shannon Johnson, announced today (Thursday, July 18). 

 The Cobras face Division I Georgia Southern in an exhibition on Oct. 30, before opening the season at Mount Olive on Nov. 9. After playing another Division I exhibition against College of Charleston on Nov. 13, the Cobras host Erskine (Nov. 16) and Converse (Nov. 19) in non-conference contests before opening conference play. Coker opens South Atlantic Conference play at Wingate on Nov. 26, before hosting Lincoln Memorial on Nov. 30 to conclude November. 

 December begins hosting Mars Hill on Dec. 7, before Coker hits the road for Carson-Newman on Dec. 14. Coker hosts Queens (N.C.) on Dec. 18, before wrapping up 2019 at Paine on Dec. 31. 

 The Cobras open the new year at Lenoir-Rhyne on Jan. 4, before hosting Catawba on Jan. 8 and Tusculum on Jan. 11. The following week poses two road contests at Anderson (S.C.) (Jan. 15) and at league newcomer UVA-Wise (Jan. 18). Coker welcomes Newberry on Jan. 22, before beginning the back end of league play at Lincoln Memorial on Jan. 25. Wingate comes to Hartsville to complete the season series on Jan. 29 to conclude the month of January. 

 The Cobras open February traveling to Mars Hill (Feb. 1) and Queens (N.C.) (Feb. 5), before hosting Carson-Newman on Jan. 8. The Cobras wrap up their season series at Catawba on Feb. 12, before hosting Lenoir-Rhyne on Feb. 15 and Anderson (S.C.) on Feb. 19. Coker wraps up its season series at Tusculum on Feb. 22 and at Newberry on Feb. 26, before hosting UVA-Wise for Senior Day on Feb. 29. 

 We are thrilled to start the season out with some exhibition and non-conference games to get us prepared for the competitive South Atlantic Conference," said Johnson. "We will use these games to showcase our strong returning players and dynamic newcomers. This season we look forward to making some noise in the conference and I very excited to get started."
