Cobras Prepared to Take on Warriors in Non-Conference Action

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's basketball team is prepared to take on the Southern Wesleyan University Warriors on Saturday (Dec. 2) in non-conference action. Opening tip is set for 2 p.m. in the DeLoach Center. Live stats and video will be available at www.cokercobras.com

The Navy and Gold head into tomorrow's game with a balanced attack that includes four players averaging eight or more points per game. Iresha Cooper leads Coker with 10.3 points per game after her season-best 20-point performance against Lenoir-Rhyne last Wednesday (Nov. 29). In addition, Cooper is shooting 58.1 percent from the field, good for fourth in the South Atlantic Conference. Janea Williams trails Cooper with 9.8 points per game, while Erin Houser comes in averaging 8.8 per game. Hayley Kropp is the final Cobra averaging eight or more points on the year with 8.3 per game. 

On the defensive end, Williams has anchored the Navy and Gold with a team-leading 10.2 rebounds per game, which leads the South Atlantic Conference. Williams also leads Coker in blocks with 2.2 per game. Kropp has also made significant contributions on the defensive end, averaging a team-high 1.3 steals per game. 

Southern Wesleyan enters tomorrow's contest with a 0-4 record. Aneysa Williams leads the Warriors offensively, averaging 13 points per game.
